Schools and the Songline

Tom is to contact all the schools on the coast especially in England, church schools, and if it is calculated that he will be passing by on a week day during term time he will invite them to take part. In the past these meetings have either been in the school or in their church. The meeting will be for about half an hour during which Tom will sing to them and involve them in singing some songs which need no advance preparation. If they have something prepared to sing then that would be a very welcome part of the meeting. Tom would say a little about what he is doing and how they have helped him create a line of song right around Britain. There may be questions. If it were convenient for the school then the children would be welcome to accompany Tom for a little of his ongoing journey. If the school felt inclined to make a financial contribution towards Tom's journey this would be gratefully accepted but there is no official charge.

Hundreds of schoolchildren!

The Very Moving Festival Company have already created about 650 miles of SONGLINE mostly in SE England. They have involved hundreds of schools and always found that school children are fascinated to meet them and witness their sense of purpose. Tom is doing this one alone. Each school and church who become involved will be helping him create the SONGLINE. The SONGLINE will be created and you can become part of it. Join in the two most healthy activities of walking and singing. The Very Moving Festival Company accepts no responsibility for any individual or school choosing to take part. It is up to each school involved especially in any walks, to do their own full risk assessment and to ensure provisions are made for their childrens safety.

Tom will be sending a copy of his CRB Certificate to the various Diocesan Centres and it will be made available for any other groups who need it who lie outside their duristriction.
